Can I still make a PCP claim without paperwork?

Yes, you can still make a PCP claim even if you don’t have all the original paperwork.

  • Lender records – Finance providers are required to keep detailed records of your agreements.

  • Bank statements – Old statements can show the payments you made and help confirm the dates of your finance agreement.

  • Data access requests – Under data protection laws, you can submit a Subject Access Request (SAR) to your lender to obtain copies of your finance documents and records.

While having the original paperwork makes things easier, it isn’t essential. Claims management companies and the FCA scheme will still be able to assess your eligibility using lender records and payment history.

Since the FCA has extended complaint deadlines until December 2025, most PCP claims will not be fully resolved until the redress scheme begins in 2026.
